	The British-born Gallagher's luminous abstract paintings simultaneously suggest intimate experiences and phenomena on the grandest scale. Multiple, vibrant bands of color arc, whir, or stream across the canvases with an energy that radiates beyond their edges. Harmonic resonances are achieved through the interplay of Gallagher's brushwork and his intuitive, complex color palette. Each band of color commences with a single, continuous stroke of the brush with additional edge-to-edge strokes overlapping and blending. The resulting soft-edged striations clearly register the hand of the artist through the slight imperfections that result from the technique.
